JR Menard

Dear Family and Friends;

JR passed away at 7:15 pm on May 11, 2005. His family was there with him in his home. We were able to tell him that it was okay to go and that his wonderful bride of 53 years would be taken care of. He died peacefully and quietly in his own bed with us by his side. He will be cremated and his ashes held until Mom can join him.

Dad did not want any funeral or memorial service so we are respecting his wish. In lieu of flowers, Mom would like donations to either Tri-County Hospice or Center Pointe (Center Pointe is a nonprofit organization that provides a place for handicapped activities including the Day Out for the Blind. Mom and Dad were active in this organization).

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Mom is surrounded by family and wishes everyone to know that she will be okay and to keep in touch.

Some thoughts on JR Menard from the boys:

JR a good man, an asset to the his country, his family and the 163rd. He was quite a fellow. He had no problem making a decision and sticking with it. When our barrier was down, JR ran a Category One requisition through when no one else would stick their neck out. He knwe we needed it and got it. That was JR.
